still industrial hemp

had the pleasure of viewing one of my favorite documentaries last night with my local indivisible group.

in 2015 these fine advocates/activist came to our gathering    to discuss industrial hemp.

....Pam is building a hemp house in Bellingham and Sandy lobbied our rep..  Vincent Buys and convinced him industrial hemp is a good idea.

this was one of the movies put on my netflix list by Chad (he knows me so well!)   In these orange times it is good to see examples of how the humans can change our ways.   water is life  !!!!  we must use our "know more, do better" if we hope to have a proud legacy.  our descendants need our full attention!!.

must see movie!!

i went to a screening and was blown away.....

i rarely eat meat but i use butter. cheese and eggs and now i will begin to really examine my footprint.....i had no idea of the magnitude of this problem. as a certified tree hugger earthiest how did i not know what the greatest threat to the environment is.????

seems to me we are totally not willing to even look....not even environmental groups!!! there is hardly anyone out there who is willing to have this conversation....i have to say this movie has started me on a new obsession....

DamNation

this film is amazing....i learned so much about where we find ourselves, how we got here and just when i thought new lows had been reached (it will be hard to rival this film for best bad news documentary i saw this year) i was treated to some amazing stories of hard work over years finally paying off and a MEGADOSE of hope...wow this film was so well done!!! and speaking as a representative of the invasive species i ask myself .... if given the choice....fish or electricity? i enthusiastically choose fish.......

i have been to the Elwha 2 times since the dams came out (first time after lower out and upper still in ) i was lured to the Elwha when i heard the moviemakers of this great movie on the Joe Show ... RETURN of the RIVER

Plastic Paradise...a film that needs to be seen

just heard about this film and it was on Netflix so i watched....i think it's my pick for best bad news of my year!!!  (i think this film came out in 2013)    very well done and describes in detail where we find ourselves.....i will be looking for any and every way to change my behavior......

"Thousands of miles away from civilization, Midway Atoll is in one of the most remote places on earth. And yet its become ground zero for The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, syphoning plastics from three distant continents. In this independent documentary film, journalist/filmmaker Angela Sun travels on a personal journey of discovery to uncover this mysterious phenomenon. Along the way she meets scientists, researchers, influencers, and volunteers who shed light on the effects of our rabid plastic consumption and learns the problem is more insidious than we could have ever imagined."
