We had a wondraful time at Bear Mountain Lodge...thanks Papa Teen and Chooch!!! and thanks to everyone who traveled to make this gathering happen. It was really fun.

Shane spends the night....

Shane spent the night last night...first time...he did great. up once to get a change and a bottle and back to sleep. just played and ate. when mom and dad came he was dirty and tired.

the garden......

the garden yesterday....more progress on the composting toilet room (more sharing ahead) the beautiful mutsu apple soon to be ready and my version of garden art...i decorate in "turn of the century white trash"

the room to house the composting toilet is coming along......we have 3 sunny days ahead after today.....the "mutsu" apple are coming along ....my guess is a couple more weeks....Mmmmmmm.....

and then ended with a video from where i was sitting (in front of compost) complete with the sunday shooters and a distant train....(and i was dismayed to see the coal go by via train to canada the other day)

remembering Kathy

I had the pleasure of her company during the last few years of her life. When she first came to us, she was ambulatory. She had end stage kidney disease and required dialysis and progressively became less abled. When I last saw her she required assistance to transfer from her bed to a wheelchair. She was a high maintenance gal and kept staff dancing to meet her needs. She knew how to be sweet but often chose a demanding entitled tone.

I displeased her one night, early in our relationship, and she insulted me so nicely she won my heart. She felt my blood pressure aquisition skills were lacking. After refusing to allow me to repeat the reading she stated sweetly, "dear, i don't mean to be unkind, but you really should get a breath mint."

Bellingham Bloggers Fest II a success

had an opportunity to put aside our differing political views and enjoy a baseball game together. we had a wonderful time and i got a few photo opps along the way.
